Not Sure What All This Fuss is About...

I can't begin to express how often this book has been enthusiastically recommended to me.

"It's amazing!"

"It's cinematic!"

I finally got to it and gave it 14 chapters before giving in.

Was it the sexism? Nah, I read fantasy and science fiction: a gal has to be tough-hided about that (though, yes, it pisses me off).

The book is predictable and boring. Why? It didn't have to be! I realize it's the story of [dude] stories (Sleeping Warrior with a dash of Siegfried?)... but I don't care. Therein lies the rub: I just can't give a flying fart about the narcissistic protagonist. I tried my hardest, but once the tale-telling began, I completely lost interest.

I'm the only one I know that [admits] to not enjoying this book. Chances are, you will probably like it.
